MSA is built for full-time tertiary students, whether you’re in your first year or your final semester. It is an ideal home base if you’re studying in Midrand, Johannesburg or Pretoria and want accommodation that actually supports your student life.
Is MSA a place where I'll actually meet people?
Absolutely. You’re moving into a community, not just a room. Shared spaces, campus activities and the everyday moments in between create plenty of chances to meet people, make friends and find your crowd.
How far is MSA from the mall?
MSA is located 2.4km from the Boulders Shopping Centre and 4.8km from Mall of Africa.
Does MSA offer transportation to the mall and back?
Yes, MSA offers complimentary student trips to the Mall of Africa on Saturdays.
What is there to do after a long day of lectures?
Depends on your mood. You could work out, catch up with friends, grab a bite, head outside or simply put your feet up. Student life doesn’t come with a fixed schedule, and neither does your time at MSA. We are also located close to public transport, malls, restaurants and other areas of interest in Midrand.
What does a typical day at MSA look like?
There isn’t really one. Maybe you’re off to an early lecture, a study session, lunch with friends, a workout and an evening hanging out on campus. Or maybe it’s a day at your college or higher education campus, before heading back to your res for snacks and a very committed afternoon nap. Your day, your rhythm.
Is MSA just for students who are really social?
Not at all. Some days are about meeting people and getting involved. Other days are about studying, recharging and keeping to yourself. MSA gives you the freedom to find the balance that works for you.
How close is MSA to nearby colleges and universities?
MSA is right in the middle of Midrand’s student hub, with several colleges and higher education campuses within easy reach. Varsity College Midrand, Eduvos and other institutions in Midrand and Waterfall are all accessible from the campus, with the Gautrain and major routes making it easy to get around.
Is the security at MSA 24/7 and is it safe?
Yes, MSA has 24/7 security that does patrols throughout the night.
Does MSA have an on-site cafeteria?
From 2027, MSA will have a convenience store which will sell meals and necessities.
Can students bring additional storage into their room?
Yes, provided it does not damage our floors and walls.
